Pair a device
Before a device can use your Mac, you pair it, once, at the Mac. Only someone who can see the Mac’s screen and approve there can pair a new device.
Pair an iPad or iPhone
Section titled “Pair an iPad or iPhone”- At the Mac, in Qispi Host’s menu, choose Pair a New Device…: a window shows a code to scan.
- On the iPad or iPhone, point the Camera app at it. Qispi opens.
- Qispi asks first: only pair with a code you’ve just scanned on your own Mac’s screen.
- The Mac asks Allow this device to use this Mac?, with a code. Check it’s the same code as on your device, and choose Allow.
That’s it: your Mac appears on Qispi’s home page from now on.
Pair a Mac
Section titled “Pair a Mac”A Mac usually has no camera pointed at another Mac’s screen, so you copy a link instead:
- In the pairing window on the Mac you want to use, choose Copy Pairing Link.
- On the other Mac, in Qispi, choose Paste Pairing Link. With the same Apple ID on both Macs, the link is already on the clipboard there (Universal Clipboard).
- Approve on the Mac, as above.
Several Macs
Section titled “Several Macs”Pair as many Macs as you like: choose Pair Another Mac… on Qispi’s home page. Each one is listed there, with a green dot when it can be reached right now.
Forget a device
Section titled “Forget a device”- At the Mac: Qispi Host’s menu › Paired Devices › the device › Forget…. It can’t connect again until it’s paired again. Rename… is there too, to tell your devices apart.
- On your device: on the Remote screen, the Mac’s ⋯ › Forget This Mac.
